1. What is a Time delay relays ?

  • Time delay relays are like normal relays however introduce a timing element in order to intentionally delay when the relay either turns on (energises) or turns off (de-energises).

2. What does a time delay module do?

  • The TDM is an advanced time delay module, allowing the installer to use only one time delay for any automatic door operation, electrically or magnetically locked doors or vestibule sequencing applications. The TDM takes one to four inputs and converts them to sequential relay outputs.

3. Why is a time delay needed?

  • Time-delay, or time-release relays, allow necessary actions to happen at specific times in an electrical apparatus because they, in essence, act as a timer. Time-delay relays are used to start or stop currents in coils and armatures, which are moving parts of electrical mechanisms.

4. What is the principle of relay?

  • Relays work on the electromagnetic induction principle. When a current is applied to an electromagnet, it creates a magnetic field around it.  A switch is used to apply DC current to the load.
