Prototyping Boards
Prototype boards make it easy to add custom circuits to your system. The prototype board has a set of standard 2.54mm pitch holes that can be used to permanently solder electronics to the board. A prototype PCB is a critical step in the electronic product design process. Circuit boards use traces to connect components. Printed circuit boards are less expensive to manufacture than traditional circuit boards.
Types of Prototyping Boards
Prototyping Boards are of 2 types: Breadboards and Vero boards. Breadboards and Vero boards are both widely used in electronics development.
Robocraze has wide collection of Breadboard, Veroboard, Zero PCB board, Plain PCB board that can be used for prototyping electronic projects.

FAQ:
1. What is PCB breadboard?
- Breadboards and Vero boards are both widely used in electronics development. A Vero Board is a hardware electrical board that provides circuit connections and support. Electronic components are permanently soldered onto printed circuit boards. On the other hand, a breadboard, also called a protoboard, is a single-sided or double-sided solderless circuit board with holes for mounting components and wire connectors. You can change it later if you want.
2. How do I make a PCB prototype?
- First, use a component with leads. Surface mount components would be a thorny issue with veroboard (aka perfboard). Get your schematics and start inserting the sub-leads into the holes in the Vero board. The idea is to twist the leads a bit and then solder the connections. Depending on your application, it may help to place the connectors around or near the board first. Component leads are often long enough to connect point-to-point, but if not, solid hookup wires can be used. Always insulate any leads or wires that are close to or cross each other. Just work your way through the schematic, add the components and solder them. Once done, double check everything before turning on your device. The best thing about this technique, aside from its low cost, is that the performance of the finished circuit is often as good as that of an etched PCB prototype board.
3. Why it is important to use solderless breadboard in making a prototype circuit?
- Solderless breadboards allow designers to quickly and easily connect components without soldering. This means that you can use breadboards to create and modify circuits very quickly, prototype different circuit designs, and test different electrical components. They are used to run wires and some electronics through them to complete an electrical circuit, making it easy to assemble electrical projects on a breadboard. Breadboards are readily available and can be used for PCB design. It's also cheap to use.
