1. What is the advantage of LiPo batteries?

  • Lipo batteries offer high specific energy compared to other lithium batteries. Due to their light weight and compact size, they are used not only in smart wearables, but also in lightweight devices such as smartphones and thin laptops. Large capacity allows you to store more power. A major advantage of LiPo battery cells is that they have approximately four times the energy  density of nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride batteries. LiPo batteries are very lightweight and can be manufactured in almost any size and shape.

2. How many times can a LiPo battery be charged?

  • Lithium-ion batteries have an average life of 2-3 years or 300-500 charge cycles, whichever comes first. A charge cycle is a period of use during which the battery is fully charged, fully discharged, and fully recharged. The discharge rate of a Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery can be calculated  using the following formula:
    Discharge Time = Battery Capacity * Battery Voltage / Device Wattage
