ST-LINK/V2 is an in-circuit debugger and programmer for the STM8 and STM32 microcontroller families. The single wire interface module (SWIM) and JTAG/serial wire debugging (SWD) interfaces are used to communicate with any STM8 or STM32 microcontroller located on an application board.
STM8 applications use the USB full-speed interface to communicate with ST Visual Develop (STVD) or ST Visual Program (STVP) software. STM32 applications use the USB full-speed interface to communicate with Atollic, IAR, Keil or TASKING integrated development environments.
In addition, to provide the same functionalities as the ST-LINK/V2, the ST-LINK/V2-ISOL features digital isolation between the PC and the target application board. It also withstands voltages of up to 1000 Vrms.
Note: This ST-Link Programmer will not get detected in the STM32CubeIDE as they are clones.

The ST-Link V2 supports most STM32 development boards that use the SWD debugging interface. Before purchasing, verify that your target board exposes the required SWD pins for programming and debugging.
Yes. The ST-Link V2 can be used with STM32CubeProgrammer and other compatible flashing utilities. However, this compatible clone version may not be recognized directly by STM32CubeIDE, so the recommended drivers should be installed before use.
Yes. The ST-Link V2 supports STM8 microcontrollers through the SWIM interface, allowing firmware programming and debugging for supported STM8 devices.
You can use STM32CubeProgrammer, ST Visual Programmer (for STM8), Keil MDK, IAR Embedded Workbench, and other supported embedded development environments. Ensure the correct USB drivers are installed before connecting the programmer.
This product is a compatible ST-Link V2 programmer designed for programming and debugging STM32 and STM8 microcontrollers. It offers a cost-effective solution for embedded development while supporting standard programming interfaces.
Yes. The ST-Link V2 supports both firmware programming and real-time debugging, enabling developers to upload code, set breakpoints, inspect variables, and troubleshoot embedded applications efficiently.
