1. What does an MPU 9250 do?

• The MPU-9250 has an embedded Digital Motion Processor that can offload computation of motion processing algorithms from the MCU, allowing it to focus on other tasks. It makes use of information from the accelerometer and gyroscope.

2. What is an MPU-9250 module?

• The MPU-9250 is a 6-axis Motion Tracking device that combines a 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, and a Digital Motion Processor (DMP). The MPU-9250 also features an embedded temperature sensor. This module includes pull-up resistors on the SDA, SCL, and nCS lines, pull-down resistors on the FSYNC and AD0 lines, and an onboard 3.3V voltage regulator allowing you to power the module from 5V sources such as an Arduino.

3. What is the working principle of the MPU-9250?

• The MPU-9250 communicates to a system processor using either a SPI or an I2C serial interface. The MPU9250 always acts as a slave when communicating with the system processor. The LSB of the I2C slave address is set by pin 9 (AD0).  It can process it at high speed and make it available to the host MCU.

4. What is Digital Motion Processor (DMP) in MPU?

• The MPU-9250 has an embedded Digital Motion Processor that can be used to off-load computation of motion processing algorithms from the MCU, freeing it up to be doing other things. It uses the data from the accelerometer and gyroscope.  It can process it at high speed and make it available to the host MCU.

5. What can we do with MPU-9250?

• The MPU-9250 is a high-performance accelerometer and gyroscope option for use in applications such as gesture recognition in gaming, self-balancing robots, toys, cell phones, vehicle navigation, fitness monitoring, and similar applications where detection of movement direction and magnitude along with rotation is desired. Both the accelerometer and gyroscope each make use of three 16-bit ADCs with four programmable ranges for high sensitivity.
