2 Inch Water Flow Sensor YF - DN50

The YF-DN50 water flow sensor is a device that is used to measure the flow rate of water. It consists of a turbine-type rotor that is placed in the water stream, and as the water flows past the rotor, it causes the rotor to spin. The sensor measures the speed of the rotor and converts it to a flow rate. The sensor has a digital output, which means that it provides a digital signal that can be read by a microcontroller or other host device. The sensor is commonly used in applications such as irrigation systems, water treatment plants, and industrial process control. It is often preferred over other types of flow sensors because it is easy to install and has a low cost.

The YF-DN50 sensor is designed to be installed in a pipe with a diameter of 50mm or 1.97 inches. The YF-DN50 water flow sensor is a large 2 inch diameter Water Flow meter Sensor that can be used to measure flow rate from 10 - 200 Liter/min

This water flow sensor consists of a plastic valve body, a rotor assembly and a Half effect current sensor. As the water flows through this sensor the rotor rotates and the speed of it changes with changes in the rate of flow of water. The hall-effect sensor outputs the corresponding pulse signal. The output of the flow sensor is proportional to the water flow. The more the water flowing more are the pulses.

Features:

  • Flow Range: 10-200 liters per minute (L/min)
  • Operating Voltage: DC 5-18V
  • Output: Square wave pulse signal
  • Sensor Type: Hall effect
  • Maximum Pressure: 1.75 MPa
  • Operating Temperature: Up to 80°C
  • Cable Length: 480mm
  • Dimensions: 92mm x 68mm

Applications:

  • Irrigation Systems: Used to monitor and control water flow in agricultural and landscaping irrigation systems.
  • Water Treatment Plants: Helps in measuring and managing water flow in treatment processes.
  • Industrial Process Control: Utilized in various industrial applications to ensure accurate water flow measurement and control.
  • Smart Home Automation: Integrated into smart home systems for monitoring water usage.
  • Vending Machines: Used to measure the flow of water in beverage vending machines.

1. What are Applications of Water Flow Sensor?

  • The YF-DN50 water flow sensor is a liquid flow sensor installed at a water source or pipe to measure the water flow rate and calculate the amount of water that has passed through the pipe. Water flow rate is measured in liters or cubic meters per hour. The DN50 flow meter are commonly used in HVAC systems, medical devices, chemical plants, and sewage treatment plants. Flow sensors can detect leaks, blockages, pipe ruptures, and changes in liquid concentration due to contamination and dirt. It can be used to sound an alarm when the water supply stops, shut down electric motors when the flow is insufficient, air conditioners/ventilators, coffee machines, swimming pool chlorination systems, etc.

2.How does the YF-DN50 water flow sensor measure the flow rate of water?

  • The YF-DN50 water flow sensor measures the flow rate of water by using a turbine-type rotor that is placed in the water stream. As the water flows past the rotor, it causes the rotor to spin. The sensor measures the speed of the rotor and converts it to a flow rate. The sensor has a digital output that provides a digital signal that can be read by a microcontroller or other host device.

3. What is the primary function of the YF-DN50 Water Flow Sensor?

  • The primary function of the YF-DN50 Water Flow Sensor is to measure the flow rate of water in a pipe, providing accurate readings in liters per minute (L/min).

4. What type of output signal does the sensor provide?

  • The sensor provides an NPN pulse output signal, which can be easily read by microcontrollers and other electronic devices.

5. What are the temperature and pressure specifications for this sensor?

  • The sensor operates effectively within a temperature range of -20°C to 80°C and can withstand a maximum pressure of 1.75 MPa.
