The SmartElex 5-inch TFT LCD Capacitive Touch Display 800×480 is a high-performance IPS TFT LCD display designed for embedded graphics, HMI applications, and industrial automation projects. Featuring a 5-inch IPS panel with an 800 × 480 pixel resolution, it delivers sharp images, vivid colors, and wide viewing angles for an excellent visual experience.
The integrated 5-point capacitive touch screen provides smooth and accurate touch interaction, making it ideal for modern graphical user interfaces. The display supports 24-bit RGB888 color output and offers flexible connectivity through parallel RGB, SPI, and I²C interfaces for seamless integration with compatible development boards.
For high-speed graphics applications, the display is best paired with STM32F429, STM32F439, STM32F746, STM32F769, STM32H743, STM32H750, or STM32H747 microcontrollers, which feature LTDC for parallel RGB output and DMA2D for hardware graphics acceleration.
Since a full RGB888 framebuffer requires approximately 1.1 MB of memory (800 × 480 × 3 bytes), an external SDRAM such as IS42S16400J or IS42S32800G is required for framebuffer storage. The LTDC continuously refreshes the display from SDRAM, while DMA2D accelerates graphics rendering and image format conversion, ensuring smooth GUI performance with minimal CPU load.
