The SIM900A modem has several features, including dual-band GSM/GPRS 900/1800 MHz performance for voice, SMS, data, and fax, RS232 interface for direct communication with a computer or MCU kit, configurable baud rate from 1200-115200 through AT command, internal TCP/IP stack to enable internet connectivity via GPRS, low power consumption of 1.0mA (sleep mode&BS-PA-MFRMS=9), control via AT commands (GSM 07.07, 07.05, and SIMCOM enhanced AT Commands), aluminum enclosure to minimize noise, supports CSD data up to 14.4 kbps and USSD non-transparent mode, and supports point-to-point MO and MT SMS cell broadcast text and PDU mode software for SMS via GSM/GPRS
