5mm Yellow LED (Pack of 10)
A yellow light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LED's are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for other lighting. It looks like a white led and illuminate's blue light. When a light-emitting diode is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence and the colour of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy bandgap of the semiconductor.

- A 5mm LED is exceptionally bright with a wide beam angle, so they're suitable for use in your projects, illuminations, headlamps, spotlights, car lighting, and models. The 5mm LED can be used anywhere where you need low power, high-intensity reliable light, or indication.
2. How many volts is a yellow LED?
- Standard yellow LEDs have forward voltages in the range of 2V to 3.3V, depending on the desired brightness and the choice of forward current.
3. Do LEDs need resistors?
- Yes, If the voltage source is higher than the voltage drop of the LED, a resistor is required. But if the voltage source is equal to the voltage drop of the LED, no resistor is required.
