The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is the latest product in the Raspberry Pi3 range and the best low power single-board computer for beginners and makers, boasting a 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.4GHz, dual-band 2.4GHz / 5.0GHz wireless, Bluetooth 4.2/BLE, faster Ethernet, and PoE capability via a separate PoE HAT. The dual-band wireless comes with modular compliance certification allowing the board to be designed into the end product without the need for further wireless compliance testing, improving both cost and time to market. Raspbian is the recommended operating system for normal use on a Raspberry Pi.
The GPU of Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ provides OpenGL ES 2.0, hardware-accelerated OpenVG and 1080p30 H.264 high-profile decode. It is capable of 1Gpixel/s, 1.5Gtexel/s or 24 GFLOPs of a general-purpose computer. What does that all mean? It means that if you plug the Raspberry Pi 3B+ single-board computer into your HDTV, you can watch Blu-ray quality video, using H.264 at 40MBits/s.
The Raspberry Pi 3B+ with 1GB RAM has four built-in USB ports that provide enough connectivity for a mouse, keyboard, or anything else that you feel the RPi needs. But if you want to add even more, you can still use a USB hub. Keep in mind, that it is recommended that you use a powered hub so as not to overtax the onboard voltage regulator. Powering the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ is easy just plug and Play with a 5V/2.5A USB power supply into the micro USB port. There’s no power button, so the RPi will begin to boot as soon as power is applied. To turn it off, simply shut down the Pi 3 B+, then remove power. The four built-in USB ports can even output up to 1.2A, enabling you to connect more power-hungry USB devices.

The 0.1″ spaced 40-pin GPIO header on the RPi gives you access to 27 GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI, as well as 3.3 and 5V sources. Each pin on the GPIO header is identical to its predecessor, the Model 3. The RAM on the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 Model B versions are on a separate chip on the bottom of the PCB, but 1GB is the maximum RAM that the SoC used by the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 Model B can support. The Raspberry Pi 4 supports up to 8GB of RAM, but like previous models, it is not upgradeable after purchase.

7. Can I connect multiple Raspberry Pis to make a faster computer?
- Sort of, but not in the way you might want to do it. You cannot simply make a more powerful computer, to play games faster for example, by bolting together smaller ones. You can network computers to create a cluster computer, but you do need to modify your software to work in this distributed fashion. 8. Can I run Windows 10 on the Raspberry Pi?
- You cannot run Windows 10 on the Raspberry Pi. There is however a special "Internet of Things" version of Windows 10 that runs on the Raspberry Pi 3B and 3B+ called Windows 10 IoT. Windows 10 IoT does not have a graphical desktop and is intended for use in embedded devices.
You may see reference to Windows 10 running on the Raspberry Pi online. This is because the community has devised a way to run regular Windows 10 on the Raspberry Pi. Although it will run, it runs extremely slowly so is not of any real use. Rather, it is a proof-of-concept. Microsoft does not sanction running Windows 10 on the Raspberry Pi.
9. Is it safe to just pull the power?
- No, not really - you may corrupt your SD card if you do that. We recommend issuing the ‘sudo halt’ or ‘sudo shutdown’ command before pulling the power. This ensures that any outstanding file transactions are written to the SD card and that the SD card is no longer 'active'. Pulling the power during an SD card transaction can occasionally corrupt the card.
10. What is difference between Raspberry Pi 3B and 3B+?
- Both the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ and the Pi 3 Model B are based on the same quad-core 64-bit processor and the Arm Cortex A53 architecture, the 3 B+ has increased the CPU speed from 1.2GHz to 1.4GHz. This is almost a 16.7% increase, which is a noticeable speed increase.
11. Does Raspberry Pi 3B+ have WIFI?
- Yes, most Raspberry Pi models now include onboard connectivity. Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are available on the Raspberry Pi 3, 3B+, Zero W, and Pi 4. This inclusion broadens the possibilities for your projects by eliminating the need for USB dongles and hubs.
