The Waveshare Mini Base Board (B) for Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5, also known as the CM5-IO-BASE-B, is a compact and feature-rich expansion board designed to turn the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 into a versatile mini-computer. It supports all variants of the Raspberry Pi CM5 and provides a wide range of connectivity options, including two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, a 40-pin GPIO header, dual MIPI interfaces, and dual 4K display outputs.
The board also features an M.2 M-Key slot for 2230/2242 NVMe SSDs, a TF card slot for CM5 Lite variants, a PWM cooling fan header, RTC battery holder, and onboard EEPROM and ATSHA204 encryption chip. With its compact 85 × 56 mm form factor, this Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 base board is well suited for embedded systems, edge computing, robotics, IoT applications, development projects, and custom Raspberry Pi-based computing solutions.
Features:
- Type C can function as a USB SLAVE interface for flashing pictures.
- Onboard default: two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
- Supports 4 screens to display different contents, adds MIPI DSI driver, regardless of whether a screen is connected, the system will default to connect, the screen will display in split-screen mode (depending on the system version).
- To enter the flashing mode, press the onboard BOOT button before turning on the device and connect to the computer via Type C.
- When flashing via Type C, do not attach any other devices. Insufficient power supply for flashing will result in the device being unrecognized.
- The USB ports have a total maximum power output of 2 A.
