The 7Semi VL53L1X ToF Distance Sensor Breakout brings advanced laser-ranging technology into a compact, easy-to-use module. Powered by the VL53L1X Time-of-Flight sensor, it offers precise distance measurements up to 4 meters with a high refresh rate of up to 50Hz. The sensor leverages a 940nm invisible Class 1 laser emitter, SPAD receiving array, and optical filtering to deliver reliable readings even in varied ambient lighting conditions.
Unlike traditional IR sensors, the VL53L1X provides absolute distance measurements independent of the target’s color or reflectance. With a hardware I2C address (0x29), the sensor requires a multiplexer when multiple units are connected to a single bus. Its built-in I2C interface ensures seamless communication with microcontrollers and computers, making it ideal for real-time monitoring, robotics, drones, and autonomous vehicles.
