Waveshare TTL to RS485 (C) Galvanic Isolated Converter
The Waveshare TTL to RS485 (C) Galvanic Isolated Converter is a compact TTL-to-RS485 serial converter designed to convert TTL signals into balanced differential RS485 signals for reliable half-duplex communication. It supports 3.3V to 5V TTL signal levels and provides galvanic isolation for both power and digital signals, helping reduce interference and improve communication stability.
The TTL interface supports a transmission distance of less than 10m, while the RS485 interface can achieve a transmission distance of about 1200m (1.2km). For RS485 networks, it supports point-to-multipoint communication with up to 32 nodes, with repeaters recommended when using 16 nodes or more. The converter also features 200W lightningproof and surge-suppress protection, 6KV ESD protection, TVS transient voltage suppression, a self-recovery fuse, and protection diodes for improved circuit safety.
A 120R terminal resistor is provided and can be enabled through soldering. With dimensions of exactly 42.8 × 15.2 × 4.75mm, this galvanically isolated TTL to RS485 converter is well suited for embedded systems, MCU projects, industrial communication, IoT devices, node expansion, and applications requiring longer-distance serial communication.
Features:
- Compatible with the TTL/RS485 standard, transforming the TTL signal into differential RS485 signal, and supporting half-duplex communication.
- The power supply interface has over-voltage protection and is compatible with 3.3V ~ 5V TTL signals.
- Onboard unibody power supply separation delivers stable isolated voltage and does not require an additional power source for the isolated terminal.
- Onboard unibody digital isolation enables signal separation, excellent reliability, robust anti-interference, and low power consumption.
- Onboard TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) effectively suppresses surge voltage and transient spike voltage in the circuit; lightningproof and anti-electrostatic.
- Onboard self-recovery fuse and protective diodes provide current/voltage stability, provide over-current/over-voltage protection, and increase shockproof performance.
- Onboard RS485 output terminal 120R resistor, enabled by soldering
- Black immersion gold process design, compact size, easy integration.
