The Waveshare RDK X5 Development Board 8GB is a compact AI and robotics development platform powered by the Sunrise 5 chip, featuring an octa-core Cortex-A55 CPU, 8GB RAM, and up to 10 TOPS BPU AI computing power. It is built for edge AI, intelligent robotics, computer vision, and embedded AI applications, with support for models and algorithms such as Transformer, RWKV, CLIP, Occupancy, Stereo Perception, and YOLO.
The board provides 4 × USB 3.0 Host Type-A, 1 × USB 2.0 Device Type-C, 1 × USB 2.0 UART Micro-B, 1 × CAN FD, and a 40-pin header with 28 GPIOs supporting SPI, I2C, I2S, PWM, and UART. For vision and display projects, it features 2 × 4-lane MIPI CSI interfaces, 1 × 4-lane MIPI DSI interface, and 1 × HDMI Type-A interface supporting up to 1080P/60fps. Networking includes 1000M Ethernet with PoE, 2.4/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4.
The RDK X5 also includes 1G-bit NAND storage, a UHS-I TF card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 5V/5A Type-C power input. With dimensions of 85 × 56 × 20 mm and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C, this RDK X5 development board is well suited for AI robotics, smart vision systems, autonomous machines, edge computing, and advanced embedded AI projects.
