The Waveshare Industrial ESP32-S3 POE ETH 8DI 8DO Control Board is an industrial-grade ESP32-S3 control solution designed for reliable digital I/O control, automation, and AIoT applications. It is powered by an Xtensa 32-bit LX7 dual-core processor running at up to 240 MHz and provides 8-channel digital input and 8-channel digital output for connecting switches, sensors, actuators, and other industrial equipment.
The board supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 5 LE, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, IEEE 802.3af PoE, isolated RS485, and isolated CAN, giving it flexible wired and wireless communication options. Its digital inputs support 5–36V passive or active NPN/PNP signals, while the digital outputs support 5–40V open-drain operation with up to 500mA load current per channel and optocoupler isolation.
For industrial power requirements, it accepts 7–36V DC through the screw terminal or 5V/1A through USB Type-C. Built-in power isolation, digital isolation, optocoupler protection, TVS protection, surge protection, and ESD protection help provide stable operation in demanding environments.
The board also includes a W5500 Ethernet controller, RTC, TF card slot, buzzer, programmable RGB LED, USB Type-C interface, and 35mm rail-mount protective enclosure, making it suitable for industrial automation, remote I/O control, IoT gateways, smart factory systems, and embedded control projects.
