SmartElex Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module | Active Low IR Proximity Sensor
The SmartElex Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module is a compact IR proximity sensor designed to detect nearby objects by sensing reflected infrared light. It uses an IR transmitter and receiver along with an LM393 comparator to provide a simple digital detection signal. The output is active low, meaning it goes LOW when an obstacle is detected.
The module features an adjustable detection range, onboard indicator LED and a simple 3-wire interface, making it easy to integrate with Arduino, Raspberry Pi and other microcontroller-based systems. Its typical detection range is 2–30 cm with a detection angle of approximately 35°.
