The SmartElex Industrial USB to RS485 Bidirectional Converter provides reliable communication between a computer or USB host and RS485 devices. It uses the original FT232RL USB-to-serial interface for stable and compatible data communication, making it suitable for industrial automation, monitoring and embedded applications.

The converter supports communication rates from 300 to 921600 bps and RS485 transmission distances of up to approximately 1.2 km at low data rates. It features automatic RS485 direction control, A+, B− and GND screw terminals, status LEDs and multiple protection circuits including TVS, surge, ESD and over-current protection.
