The Waveshare 5inch DSI LCD is a compact 800 × 480 capacitive touch display for Raspberry Pi, designed to provide a convenient touchscreen interface for embedded systems, DIY electronics, robotics, and Raspberry Pi projects. It uses the Raspberry Pi's DSI interface for direct display communication and supports up to 60Hz refresh rate.

The display features a 5-inch screen, 800 × 480 resolution, 5-point capacitive touch, and an I2C touch interface, while its toughened glass panel provides hardness up to 6H. The display supports Raspberry Pi 5, 4B, 3B+, 3A+, 3B, 2B, B+, and A+ models, along with selected Compute Module versions, and works with Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu, Kali, and RetroPie without requiring additional display drivers.

Brightness can also be adjusted through software, making it suitable for interactive dashboards, control panels, portable Raspberry Pi systems, smart home interfaces, and other touchscreen-based applications.
