Seeed Studio Grove Smart IR Gesture Recognition Sensor Module
The Seeed Studio Grove Smart IR Gesture Sensor is an intelligent AI gesture recognition module designed to bring touch-free interaction to embedded and IoT projects. Built with an infrared camera sensor and an onboard AI algorithm, the PAJ7660 gesture recognition sensor can identify more than 15 different hand and finger gestures, including push, swipe, tap, pinch, grab, rotation, and thumb gestures.
It supports I2C, SPI, and USB communication, while its Grove, Type-C, and Seeed Studio XIAO compatibility makes integration simple with a wide range of development boards. With support for both 3.3V and 5V systems, this Grove Smart IR Gesture Sensor is a practical choice for robotics, smart control panels, interactive devices, HMI projects, and other applications where users can control functions through natural hand movements.
Features:
- Recognize more than 15 built-in hand gestures, including swipe, pinch, tap, grasp, rotation, thumb up/down, and static movements. No model training or algorithm creation is required, allowing developers to easily include gesture interaction into their projects.
- Ready to use—no vision algorithm required: The built-in AI gesture detection avoids the requirement for OpenCV, camera calibration, and model training. Connect to your MCU and receive gesture results immediately using I²C.
- Supports Grove and Seeed Studio XIAO interfaces, allowing for rapid connection via I²C. Images can also be transferred to a PC via the USB Type-C interface, which simplifies development, debugging, and evaluation.
- Reliable Gesture Detection in Different Lighting Conditions: With an infrared camera and an integrated LED fill light, the sensor provides steady gesture identification in both bright and low-light conditions, with a detection range of 5-40 cm.
Applications:
- Wireless Gesture Interaction
- Light Switch
- Function Panel Switch
- PPT interaction
- Robot Control
- Music Player Control
