BeaglePlay – Embedded Development & Evaluation Board
BeaglePlay is an open-source embedded development and evaluation board designed to make Linux-based embedded system development easier and more connected. It is built around the Texas Instruments AM6254 Sitara processor, featuring a quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 processor subsystem operating at up to 1.4 GHz, along with an Arm Cortex-M4F MCU and PRU subsystem for embedded and real-time applications.
The board includes 2GB DDR4 RAM and 16GB eMMC storage, providing a practical platform for application development, prototyping, and evaluation. For connectivity, BeaglePlay offers 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, BeagleConnect Sub-GHz wireless, 1Gb/s Gigabit Ethernet, and 10Mbit 10BASE-T1L single-pair Ethernet with Power over Data Line (PoDL).
It also provides a full-size HDMI output, USB 2.0 Type-A host port, USB-C power and connectivity port, microSD support, and expansion interfaces including Grove, mikroBUS, QWIIC, MIPI CSI-2 camera, and OLDI display.
With support for Debian Linux and a wide ecosystem of sensors, actuators, displays, and connectivity modules, the BeaglePlay development board is well suited for IoT development, industrial automation gateways, human-machine interfaces (HMI), digital signage, BeagleConnect sensor gateways, and embedded Linux projects.
