12V 1.3 Ah Lead Acid Battery
The 12V 1.3Ah Lead Acid Battery is a sealed, maintenance-free SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) / VRLA (Valve-Regulated Lead Acid) battery designed for compact backup and low-power applications. It uses lead-acid chemistry with an absorbed electrolyte construction, keeping the battery acid contained inside the sealed case so that regular refilling is not required. Its valve-regulated design provides reliable, low-maintenance operation with low self-discharge and good discharge performance.
Capacity and Technical Specifications
The 1.3Ah capacity indicates that the battery can theoretically deliver 1.3 amps for one hour under specified test conditions. In practical applications, the available runtime depends on the load current, discharge conditions, battery age, temperature, and the efficiency of the connected equipment. At a nominal 12V, the theoretical stored energy is approximately 15.6Wh (12V × 1.3Ah).
For charging, the battery uses a constant-voltage charging method. The specified cycle-use charging voltage is 13.5–13.8V, while the standby/float-use voltage is 14.4–15.0V according to the product specifications. The charging current should be limited to less than 0.3C, which corresponds to approximately 0.39A for a 1.3Ah battery.
The battery measures 98 × 43 × 52 mm and weighs approximately 510g, making it suitable for projects where compact dimensions are important. The matching 12V 1.3Ah SLA battery format commonly uses an F1 terminal, a 4.8 mm flat-blade terminal.
As a general-purpose sealed lead-acid battery, its cycle life depends heavily on depth of discharge, charging method, operating temperature, and frequency of cycling. It is better suited to standby and occasional backup use than repeated deep-discharge applications. Frequent deep discharges can reduce service life.

What Can This Power Do and For How Long?
To help you self-select, here is a practical breakdown of what this 12v battery can power.
Note: For maximum battery longevity, it is recommended to only discharge an SLA battery to 50% of its total rated capacity.
Worked Example 1: Powering a 12V LED Strip
-
Device: 12V LED Strip Light
-
Power Draw: 1.2 Amps (12W)
-
Usable Capacity: 1.3Ah × 50% (recommended depth of discharge) = 0.65Ah
-
Calculated Runtime: Usable Capacity (0.65Ah) ÷ Current Draw (1.2A) = ~0.54 hours (or about 32 minutes)
Worked Example 2: Powering a Small DIY Robotics Project or Alarm System
-
Device: Microcontroller + Sensors + Small Motors
-
Power Draw: 0.2 Amps (200mA)
-
Usable Capacity: 0.65Ah
-
Calculated Runtime: Usable Capacity (0.65Ah) ÷ Current Draw (0.2A) = ~3.25 hours of continuous operation
This makes the 1.3Ah model perfect for backup power, short-duration robotics, emergency lighting, and small-scale electronics where space and weight are critical constraints.
