Witty Fox WF-05 Bluetooth Module
WittyFox WF-05 is a UART-based Bluetooth module capable of wirelessly communicating with devices such as your smartphones, laptops, and even other microcontrollers. The module incorporates the Feasycom BT986 Bluetooth chip which supports Bluetooth 5.2 and the latest technologies like Bluetooth Enhanced data rate (EDR) as well as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). It is pin-to-pin compatible with the existing HC-05 module and this module can easily be used to upgrade your existing projects to newer and more efficient Bluetooth technologies.
This Bluetooth module itself has an onboard LED depicting the connection status and also has a “STATE” pin breakout to indicate to the parent device of the Bluetooth status. It also supports a relatively wide range of input voltage of 3.6-6V with reverse polarity protection to prevent accidental damage to the module.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
1. What is WF-05 Bluetooth Module?
- The WF-05 Bluetooth module is an easy to use embedded component that lets you add Bluetooth connectivity to any of your embedded projects or products
2. How do I use the WF-05 Bluetooth Module?
- You can use the WF-05 Bluetooth module with any controller or embedded device of your choice that support the UART protocol over TTL. Any message sent to the module over Bluetooth will be put onto the UART port and vice-versa (any message put on the UART port will be send to the device connected to the Bluetooth module)
3. How do I know if my WF-05 Bluetooth is working?
- There are multiple methods/test that you can perform to test if your WF-05 Bluetooth module is working. One simple test would be to use to a USB to serial connector [D1] to connect the module to your computer. Then you can use a terminal software like putty to send messages to the device connected to it and verify that the messages are received.
