TM1637 4-Digit Display + IR Proximity Sensor
The TM1637 4 digit LED Display Module is a low-cost solution for displaying Arduino project output data. Though the data displayed is limited to numbers, users can also display characters such as A, B, C, and so on. The TM1637 Driver Chip controls the 4 digits on this 7 segment LED display. This TM1637 4 Bits Digital Tube LED Display Module can be controlled with just two wires.
IR Proximity Sensor
The IR Proximity Sensor module has great adaptive capability of the ambient light, having a pair of infrared transmitter and the receiver tube, the infrared emitting tube to emit a certain frequency, encounters an obstacle detection direction (reflecting surface), infrared reflected back to the receiver tube receiving, after a comparator circuit processing, the green LED lights up, while the signal output will output digital signal (a low-level signal), through the potentiometer knob to adjust the detection distance, the effective distance range 2 ~ 30cm working voltage of 3.3V-5V.

1. What is a 4-digit 7-segment display?
- This 7-segment LED Display has 4 digits which are controlled by the TM1637 Driver Chip. It requires only two connections to control this TM1637 4 Digits 7 Segment Led Display Module. Also thanks to the I2C bus you can control it using only 2 wires, leaving more pins available on your Microcontroller to connect other things.
2. How does a TM1637 4 Digit 7-Segment LED Display work?
- The TM1637 4-digit 7-segment displays require 12 connection pins. The TM1637 IC is mounted on the back of the display module, which reduces the total wire to 4. Two pins are required for the power connections and the other two pins are used to control the segments. The module is a 12-foot clock with four common anode tubes (0.36 inch) display modules for driver IC TM1637, only two signal lines can make the MCU control four 7-segment digital tubes.
3. What is IR proximity sensor used for?
- Proximity sensors detect objects and obstacles in front of them. The sensor continues to transmit infrared light, and when an object approaches, the sensor detects it by monitoring the reflected light from the object.
4. What is an IR Sensor and why is it not visible?
- An infrared (IR) sensor is an electronic device that measures and detects infrared radiation in its surrounding environment. Infrared radiation was accidentally discovered by an astronomer named William Herchel in 1800. While measuring the temperature of each color of the light (separated by a prism), he noticed that the temperature just beyond the red light was the highest. IR is invisible to the human eye, as its wavelength is longer than that of visible light. Anything that emits heat gives off infrared radiation
5. Is proximity and IR sensor same?
- IR, or infrared, detects the presence of an object by emitting an infrared light beam. It functions similarly to ultrasonic sensors, but instead of sonic waves, it transmits infrared radiation. Infrared proximity sensors are made up of an IR LED that emits light and a light detector that detects reflection.
