Voice Recognition Module

Voice recognition is a technique that facilitates a natural and convenient human-machine interface using the voice recognition module. It extracts and analyses voice features of humans delivered to a machine or computer through the mic. The Voice recognition technique is classified into many types based on different criteria such as the scope of the users, the number of words used for recognition, and the naturalness of speaking. If the voice recognition level is more than 95%, then only voice recognition is practically used.

Speak (Voice) Recognition Sensor Module V3.1 compatible with Arduino is a compact and easy-control speaking recognition board. Speak (Voice) Recognition Module V3.1 product is a speaker-dependent voice recognition module. It supports up to 80 voice commands in all. Max 7 voice commands could work at the same time. Any sound could be trained as the command. Users need to train the module first before letting it recognize any voice command.

This board has 2 controlling ways: Serial Port (full function), General Input Pins (part of a function). General Output Pins on the board could generate several kinds of waves while the corresponding voice command was recognized.

  • Long-distance-speech-recognition system
  • A robotic vehicle using a cell phone

2. What is an example of voice recognition?

  • Hands-free Calling- Another example of voice recognition is making hands-free calls to specific people in a contact list. Voice Biometrics- Another application of voice recognition is user verification.

3. Can you use an Arduino for voice recognition?

  • You can use any software as the basis for your speech recognition algorithm. The SpeechRecog1.exe Windows program can be used to record and playback the outputs from the Arduino's digital filters. Then use the Arduino to perform all of the calculations.
