  • The turbidity sensor has an operating voltage of 5VDC and maimum current of 30mA.
  • It has an operating temperature of -30 ° C to 80 ° C and is best compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, AVR, PIC.
  • It is able to detect particles that are suspended in water and detect quality of water.
  • Ideal monitoring of water turbidity in rivers, streams, lakes, water boxes, catchment and research sites, laboratories, tanks with liquids and etc.

Turbidity Liquid Particle Detection Sensor

A turbidity liquid particle detection sensor is a device that is used to measure the turbidity, or cloudiness, of a liquid. Turbidity is often used as an indication of the presence of suspended particles in the liquid, such as dirt, algae, or bacteria. The sensor works by shining a light through the liquid and measuring the amount of light that is scattered or absorbed by the particle detection.

Turbidity is the measurement of particulate matter in water. It requires the analog port of the MCU to read the analog value for calculation. It needs turbidity calibration liquid to calibrate. It is not the multimeter that directly measures the voltage. The output voltage of each module is different. The module should be protected from light and light. The temperature and voltage will make the output voltage of the module different.

These decisions are made on the basis of a comparison between clean water measurements (taken at the beginning of the wash cycle) and the wash water turbidity measurement taken at the end of each wash cycle. By measuring the turbidity of the wash water, the dishwasher can conserve energy on lightly soiled loads by only washing as long as necessary. This will result in energy savings for the consumer.

1. How does the turbidity sensor work?

  • A turbidity probe operates by projecting a light beam into the water being tested. Any suspended particles will then scatter this light. A light detector is placed at a 90-degree angle to the light source and detects the amount of light that is reflected back at it.

2. What is turbidity?

  • Turbidity is the measurement of particulate matter in water. It requires the analog port of the MCU to read the analog value for calculation. It needs turbidity calibration liquid to calibrate. It is not the multimeter that directly measures the voltage. The output voltage of each module is different. The module should be protected from light. The output voltage of the module will vary depending on the temperature and voltage.

3. Where is the turbidity sensor used?

  • The 12v Turbidity sensors can be used in small scale DIY projects. It can be used in projects like water irrigation system, Aquariums, Water cleaning systems etc.
